Welcome to Ner Tamid’s web
presence. I hope you enjoy the different pages that strive to reflect
something of our community and I invite you to come to one of our
services or classes or activities to see and feel what we are all about
as a congregation.
If I were to describe to you what Ner Tamid is all about in just a few
words, I must say that it is about our members. Our members come in
many shapes and sizes and do many wonderful (and occasional
not-so-wonderful) things and we are an extended family. Some us love
dogs and cats and others are allergic to them. Some of us love sports
and others turn the other way. Some of us are vegetarians and some of
us are not. IN other words, we are real people with real people lives
and real people concerns.
And yet, we come together as a KEHILA KEDOSHA, a holy, fulfilling
congregation. We care about each other regardless of other interests
and aspects. Not because those things are not important, but because
the community and its support is even more important. We come together
as KEHILA KEDOSHA because we strive to see the Divine Spark in every
human being and to make a nefesh (soul) connection. We come together to
seek the Divine because it is the seeking that gives meaning to what we
do, even though each of us, in the end, does that seeking in his or her
own way.
Sometimes that support takes the shape of a quick phone call, a hug here
or there or a bowl of warm soup and help on a shopping trip. Everyone
has special needs and everyone has a special gift to the community that
only he or she can bring. If honoring that part of your self and of
others describes a community where you can thrive and make a meaningful
contribution, please come check us out. |
