Ner Tamid Kheder
Have you ever wanted to be a Bar or Bat Mitzvah?
Did you want more from that special point in your
life?
Ner Tamid offers the ultimate Tucson B/B Mitzvah training program.
Earn six units in our unique kheder, and you, too, can have the Bar
or Bat Mitzvah experience you have wanted!
What’s unique?
Well, we ask you to take 6 units to advance your Judaic Education.
You can do that in one year, two years or three years, or even
more. You start where you are now ( a very good place to start!)
and you move 6 steps further on your Jewish journey. No matter what
your background, this approach will move you 6 significant steps
forward – and that will prepare you.
What are the units?
1) Hebrew – choose from “Learning about Hebrew”, “Basic
reading/decoding”, “Understanding Prayer”, “Scriptural Hebrew” or
“Conversational Hebrew (Basic or Advanced)”
2) History – choose from a general overview or any of the
period/theme specific offerings.
3) Torah – choose an approach to the study of Torah.
4) Na”Ch and Beyond – the rest of scriptures – a variety of
courses to tempt the mind and the soul.
5) Life Cycle and Culture – Explore different aspects of
“being” Jewish
6) Spiritual Practice – Explore different expressions of
giving meaning to “being” Jewish
Why six?
There are six points on a Star of David and that represents a very
balanced structure. There are 6 orders of Mishna and 6 regular days
in each week. So 6 felt balanced, ordered and appropriate. Then
comes the completion, the seventh thing.
Even if you don’t want to go through a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the
classes will still be great sources of learning in the Tucson
community – a Ner Tamid special offering.
